Following the success of first education Tweet-up held in November, the Pearson Centre for Policy and Learning (@PearsonCPL) and EducationInvestor magazine (@EduInvestor) held its second successful #WeTweetEd #2 event last evening at Learning Without Frontiers at Olympia in London last night.
#WeTweetEd #2 debated what we need to do to keep driving education technology forward, exploring issues such as:
- Do schools, colleges, universities and others need to invest in more kit or just make better use of what they’ve already got?
- Are education staff sufficiently trained and comfortable using social media and other technologies for education?
- What role is there for government, employers, parents, learners and other players?
- What are the barriers to progress?
- How effective is all this stuff really?
We asked attendees to answer two big questions when they registered to attend – and we’ve summarised the results here for colleagues:
The biggest barrier holding us back?
How should we drive education technology forward?
Once again, in the Twitter spirit, each speaker made their points in 140 seconds or less.
